This stunning installation, designed by architects Studio Joseph, became the centerpiece of the most frequented floor of the award-winning Bloomberg European Headquarters.

My challenge was to engineer the three 14 x 8-foot tables to cantilever out from a single center point. I designed an aluminum lattice structure that would thread through a 5-axis milled foam substrate. The structure allows data and electrical power to feed the Bloomberg terminals out on the main work surface. I relied on a composite layup of fiberglass and carbon fiber to give strength to the complicated surface.

This geologic visual and retail display for Calvin Klein Collection I conceptualized for both Dover Street Market Tokyo and their Madison Avenue location.

I designed sculptural shapes out of heavy felt riveted to a substructure along with steel hang rods and pedestals for displaying product. After the success of the Dover Street Market project, I was asked to provide a similar concept for the Calvin Klein’s flagship store in New York.

The challenge in creating Alyson’s sculpture—which was 60 feet long, made of dichroic plastic and aluminum, and to hang from the ceiling—was producing around 10,000 acrylic parts, along with 3,000 aluminum ribs, to be welded together to create the lattice structure. After completing the original production plan and engineering, I needed to devise a batch method of file creation and part-marking in order to streamline production and final assembly. Thorough planning and laser etching of each part allowed for a streamlined, rolling production and completion on an aggressive schedule.

I designed these spare-no-expense table top displays for high-end watchmaker Patek Philippe’s sales dinners. They are made of mitered and backlit low iron glass with the brand’s calatrava acid etched into the exterior surface. There is a custom-made polished stainless light fixture in the shape of an X to light the watch faces. A second internal glass box diffuses the dimmable interior lighting that is run off of rechargeable batteries to allow for cordless operation.

I designed this full-size wire-frame replica of a 1965 Corvette Stingray for David Stark Design and Cartier’s Precious Garage opening at their Manhattan Mansion.

I designed a pair of costume display cases for the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center. The cases were designed to fit the ballet’s freight elevators and are outfitted with rechargeable batteries and recessed castors to allow them to be repositioned for events. The design references the patinated bronze and calacatta marble used throughout the ballet’s Philip Johnson building. I also employed some modern touches: For instance, the tempered glass is mounted to the outside of the bronze frame using hardware I designed. This allows all the exterior surfaces to be flush.

I did the technical design and detailing of a suspended display wall and cantilevered table in the Met’s Costume Institute as part of its “Heavenly Bodies” exhibit.

I worked closely with DS+R’s design team to bring these two challenging concepts to fruition on a limited schedule. I developed and detailed the metal work of each to find a balance between the clients design intent and the necessary structural engineering, stability and safety of the displayed artifacts.

I designed all the physical elements of a medical testing model for physicians to train injecting Botulinum into neck muscles: case, hardware, monitor mounting, mechanicals, etc. These medical testing units were for clients Moey and Blue Telescope.

There is a soft, silicone injection area insert in the upper torso. The monitor both tilts and swivels freely; a syringe is embedded with location and dosage sensors. The testing station lowers on a track into its base for ease of transport.

I developed this all-in-one training tool to combine all the elements and props in client Kim Kuznitz’s Surfilates program into a simple, adjustable, and portable package. The overall aesthetic mimics the material and construction of existing Pilates equipment. The elements are engineered for CNC-cutting and short-run local fabrication with minimal hand work.

The artist designed nine large scale works for a solo exhibition at the Hirshhorn. Its significance being that it was the first time the museum removed all of their permanent work from the grounds, and it was the artists first major American museum exhibition.

Working from the artist sketches, I executed all design engineering, project management, sourcing of materials and processes in the US and Canada, packaging and logistics, including site fabrication one of the larger works.

I designed a display package and custom furniture pieces for Frye’s New York flagship store and first brick and mortar location, with hundreds more produced for subsequent store openings. Materials included blackened steel, architectural bronze and salvaged lumber. For the cast iron parts I utilized a combination of 3D modeling and CNC cutting with traditional hand carving.

This permanent display of various notable architectural facades was designed by Studio Joseph for the National Building Museum.

I led a team to develop a recreation of each facade. We employed various techniques; some complicated CNC tool pathing, generative 3D modeling and refined DTS printing to accurately represent each project.

As an anchor to Morris Adjmi's residential construction at Front and York in Dumbo Brooklyn, I provided technical design, a rigging and installation plan and project managed the production of this twelve foot tall aluminum ampersand sculpture.
